Where is our data stored?
In the region your school chooses. Evident runs US-hosted infrastructure and a dedicated EU deployment where student data is stored and processed in the European Union (Frankfurt). Both are encrypted in transit and at rest, with row-level security and audit logging, and a signed data processing agreement is available, with EU-residency terms on the EU deployment. Schools elsewhere should evaluate Evident against their own national data-protection obligations; we answer those questions directly and honestly.
Does Evident comply with GDPR?
Evident is built around data-minimal, access-controlled workflows: per-item visibility, export and permanent-delete controls, signed DPAs, and a dedicated EU deployment for schools that need EU data residency. We do not claim a GDPR certification. Schools subject to GDPR or similar laws should review the DPA with their data protection officer, and we support that review.
Is this a safeguarding case management system?
No. Evident documents day-to-day behavior and well-being evidence: classroom observations, support actions, progress over time. Statutory safeguarding concerns belong in your school's designated safeguarding system and procedures. Evident complements that work; it does not replace it.
We say ILP, SEN, and learning support, not IEP. Does the terminology fit?
Yes. Evident's records are curriculum-agnostic: dated observations, goals with evidence behind them, support plans, access arrangements, and review-ready packets. Learning support teams use them for individual learning plans (ILPs), SEN support records, and inclusion documentation. Some tooling carries US labels like IEP where US law names a specific artifact, but nothing about the workflow assumes a US context.
How does pricing work for schools outside the US?
Same as everywhere: individual teachers are free and self-serve, and school licenses are annual, priced in USD, paid by card or invoice. No regional markup and no minimum seat count to start a conversation.
